Dr. Avi Weisfogel Contribution to the Treatment of Sleep Apnea

Dr. Avi Weisfogel is a New Jersey based Dentist. He is the founder of Dental Sleep Masters. Weisfogel private dental practice began in 1999. He managed Old Bridge Dental Care for over 15 years. While practicing, he received accolades from the community designating him as the best dentist. It was during his practice that he began exploring the world of sleep. In the year2010, he started Healthy Heart Sleep, an institution that sought to address sleep disorders. Through this facility, he advised physicians on methods of establishing sleep labs aimed at managing sleep disorders.

 

Two years later, Weisfogel founded Owner Unlimited Sleep. Through this institution, he lectured dentists on methods of combating sleep apnea and on methods of better serving the patients. In 2014, he came up with Dental Sleep Masters, an organization aimed at teaching dentists on the usage of oral appliances in combating sleep disorders. Dr. Weisfogel graduated with a degree in biology and psychology from Rutgers University. Additionally, he is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. With years of experience in dentistry and its relation to sleep disorders, Avi uses his experience and expertise to help dentists identify potential patients and provide treatment before the conditions escalate. Results from a recent research show that there is a relation between sleep apnea and conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. With these findings, it is, therefore, paramount to find a cure for sleep apnea.

Dr. Avi Weisfogel leads in the fight against this disease. According to him, 90 percent of people suffering from this disorder remain undiagnosed. Through Dental Sleep Matters, Weisfogel seeks to create awareness on this condition. Dental Sleep Matters have created a platform where physicians interact with doctors and consequently, help in the development of treatments. The collaboration of these caregivers has resulted in the development of alternative treatments that are smaller in size and user-friendly. The development has led to an increase in the number of patients seeking treatment. A treatment that involves stimulation of the airways got approved by FDA in 2012. The treatment is tolerable among majority of patients
