What is ADF?
Alliance Defending Freedom is a Christian nonprofit organization that provides free legal help to the public in cases concerning the “First Amendment” and religious liberty. What is their Purpose?
The ADF is particularly concerned about what it calls the increasing intolerance in America. It sees the changing moral landscape in America as a threat to religious liberty. They also contend that courts have wrongly interpreted statutes and the Constitution in order to uphold same-sex marriage rights.
The Alliance Defending Freedom believes that a homosexual couple has no fundamental right to marry and that conservative Christian rights are not protected under the U.S. Constitution over gay rights. As of June 2015, the ADF had won 70 cases in federal courts nationwide. In some of these cases, they have represented business owners who were punished for refusing to provide goods or services for same-sex weddings.
The ADF is also concerned that the separation of church and state is being used as a weapon against those who hold conservative Christian beliefs.
