Doug Haynes has always been fascinated by the world of business and economics. As an undergraduate learner at Stanford University, he majored in economics, focusing on behavioral finance. Since then, Haynes has held engineering and consulting roles in the industry, where his math and statistics knowledge has made me indispensable at times!

Haynes Has Worked as an Aerospace Engineer
Before starting consulting, Haynes worked as an aerospace engineer and then went back to school for an MBA. The aerospace industry has always been his passion. After graduating from college with degrees in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, he spent several years working on projects related to space exploration technology.
How Haynes Became a Consultant
Haynes was a mechanical engineering major at MIT and then went back to school to get an MBA. After getting his MBA, he started working for McKinsey & Company as an associate in their Boston office. It was there that Haynes stumbled into consulting and realized it was an excellent fit for me. He never thought he would be in management consulting.
Philanthropy
Haynes contributes to several nonprofit organizations. He uses his skills to help enrich others’ lives. Haynes says it was a blessing to use some of the skills he had learned in his day jobs to give back to others. This longtime philanthropist is mainly dedicated to three types of nonprofit organizations. He helps further programs that enhance education, assists veterans, and fight poverty.

He is currently among the boards of directors of the Robin Hood Foundation, which strives to reduce poverty in New York City; Cohen Veterans Network, which provides mental health services for children with diverse abilities and returning veterans.
