Getting involved in community affairs is a great way to serve the needs of New Yorkers. This is something that attorney Gretchen Robinson enjoys doing. Gretchen Robinson is a lawyer by training. Robinson is a native of Washington, D.C. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. After completing a degree in French and anthropology she decided the field of law was for her. This is why she chose to get a law degree from American University Washington College of Law. Since that time, she’s spend a lot of time working in varied areas of legal practice. She choose to move to New York City. She served in the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
Her Present Role
Over the course of her work as a lawyer in New York City, Robinson has taken on many roles. She chose to join the state government in 2015. This is when she became the Compliance & Internal Controls Officer for RIOC. She has also done other important tasks that are about helping residents of this city. For example, she has served as the Senior Counsel to the Empire State Development Corporation. Here, she worked in the office of the Division of Minority and Women’s Business Development. She spent time working closely with people in the state in need of her legal assistance. She has also taken on another role that she knows helps make New York City a more enjoyable place to travel, work, seek out a degree and a raise a family. She is the general counsel at the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation. She is content to be part of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation because it ensures residents of Roosevelt Island have exactly what they need from their state government.
