John T. Hailer's Appointment to the Board of Directors of Global Partners
Global Partners LP announced that John Hailer, former Chief Executive Officer and President of Natixis Investment Managers, has been appointed to their Board of Directors for its general partner Global GP LLC, effective on July 1, 2018. Mr. Hailer, 57, serves as the president of a Boston-based financial services firm, 1251 Asset Management, which owns many companies in the insurance and asset management sectors. Before joining 1251 Capital Group, he served Natixis for over 18 years. As Americas and Asia President and CEO, he strategically repositioned Natixis as a global solutions provider, helping it to grow into one of the world’s largest asset managers.
Before joining Natixis, John Hailer took charge of new business development in Latin America and North America at Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Firm. Besides, he was the director of Putnam Investment’s retail business development. John is a respected leader in the financial services sector. Richard Slifka, the Chairman of Global GP LLC, noted that Mr. Hailer’s investment experience and business acumen, combined with his deep understanding of the life sciences industry and a track record of building successful companies, will provide the board with unique solutions which will lead to their company growth.
Richard Slifka also noted that Global is committed to serving the communities, and that was one of the main reasons they were impressed by John’s commitment to philanthropic work. For instance, his long commitment to supporting the Home for Little Wanderers, the Boston Public Library Fund and the Children’s Trust. Mr. Hailer serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Back Bay Association and New England Council. He also serves as a Trustee on other boards, like Boston Public Library and Boston Medical Center. Mr. Hailer received his B.A. from Beloit College and served on its Board of Trustees.
