Kelcy Warren
Kelcy L. Warren is the CEO and chairman of Energy Transfer Partners, a Dallas-based company he started in 1986, which has grown to become one of the largest domestic and international pipeline operators in the world.
Kelcy Warren started his career with Texas Utilities, working as a Senior Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry from 1974 – 1986. He was on staff at the Texas Water Development Board from 1972-1973 and in the principal’s office of Reliant Energy from 1979-1981. In 1981 he founded Western Gas Holdings, LLC, where he served as President until 1985 when it was acquired by Louisiana Corporation Services (LCSO). He served as President and CEO of LCSO until 1986.
Kelcy Warren founded Energy Transfer Partners in 1986 with one natural gas pipeline. The company has since grown to become one of the largest pipeline operators in the world, with operations across the globe. Warren serves as CEO and Chairman of Energy Transfer Partners. He sits on the board of directors for EP Energy Corporation (NYSE: EPE), LCG Holdings, LLC, Sunoco Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE: SXL), Sunoco, Inc., Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP (NYSE: BWP), Boardwalk Finance Holdings, LLC and the American Natural Gas Association (ANGA).
Kelcy Warren is married to his wife, Trudy, and they have two children together. He has a daughter from a previous marriage, Crystal L. Warren. He sits on the Board of Trustees at Southern Methodist University and is a member of the Executive Committee of University Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas.
Kelcy Warren received an Honorary Doctorate from Southern Methodist University, where he also serves as President of the SMU Development Board for the SMU School of Arts and Sciences. Warren is a member of the Advisory Council for The University of Texas at Austin’s Energy Institute. He also served on the Board of Directors for The University of Texas at Austin’s Brown School.
