 Marwan Kheireddine, Lebanese Banker and Chairman of Am Bank.

In 2009, he was appointed Chairman/CEO of Am Bank, succeeding Hisham Muhanna.

Kheireddine has been honored for both his contributions at the bank and for his social and humanitarian efforts. In May 2006, he was named the 2004-2006 Chairman of the Board for Emirates Insurance (EIH), a position he still holds today. He was also appointed as a member of the Board at Pearson PLC (LSE:PSON) in July 2006, a position he still holds today. In February 2010, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors at Credit Suisse (CSE:CS), a position he still holds today.

” He states “In the area of agriculture and agribusiness, I am working with the U.A.E., Kuwait and Jordan on joint ventures. We have come up with a plan to help foreign investors who want to invest in agriculture and agribusiness. We are working on developing suitable export markets, one of which is the UAE and the neighboring countries.”

In February 2008, he was appointed Chairman of the Lebanese-Kuwaiti Business Committee and in April 2009 he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Kuwait-Lebanese Business Council.  In 2009 he was honored with the Distinguished Kuwaiti Award, as well as with the Kuwait-Lebanese Business Council “Certificate of Honour.”

He has also been involved in a number of other community-based projects. He is president of ‘BANK’ (Business Association for National Development), and he has been active in youth camps, healthcare and education.  In 2007, Mr. Kheireddine was appointed as an Economic Advisor to the government.

In addition to his business activities, Mr. Kheireddine is involved in a number of sectors, including healthcare and education. He was Chairman of the Board of Al-Ahlia Bank from June 2000 until 2009. Al Ahlia Bank (ABA) was founded by the late Shaikh Talal Bin Mohammad Al-Thani (may Allah have mercy on him) in 1959 and was listed on the Doha Securities Market in 1994.
