Vik Bansal is the Former CEO of and Managing Director of Cleanaway

Vik Bansal is an experienced entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in software development, product management, business strategy, and marketing. He has led multiple successful startups, including a $100M+ revenue company acquired by one of the largest technology companies in the world. He also holds several patents for his data analytics and machine learning inventions. His most recent startup is InfraBuild which provides cloud-based Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to help businesses build their private clouds.

Vik Bansal is the former CEO of and Managing Director of Cleanaway from 2015, where he transformed it into a multi-billion dollar company. Before he joined Cleanway, formerly known as Transpacific, the company was undergoing financial and management issues. In less than two years under his leadership, the company grew its revenues from $0 to 1 billion dollars. He then sold the company to a larger competitor for $2.5 billion. His success in Cleanway is attributed to his ability to create Footprint 2025 to drive circular economy management in Australia. This initiative included the creation of a new Australian government department called the Department of Industry, Innovation, and Science (DIIS). The department was created to focus on innovation and support the growth of the clean tech sector. It was later renamed the Department of Industry, Science and Research (DISTAR). He is currently working on his next venture, InfraBuild, which will be launched soon. In 2013 he founded InfraBuild to provide Infrastructure as a Service to help businesses.

As the CEO of Cleanway, he started by creating a detailed operating model for the company. This helped him understand how each part of the company worked together and the critical metrics for each part of the company. To him, this was the first step toward building a great team and culture. Unlike most other leaders who focus on quick unstable changes, Vik Bansal focused on rebranding the company to be more sustainable. They changed the company’s name to Cleanaway and ensured all employees understood the new brand. They also created a new logo and website to reflect the new branding.
