Michael Gold’s Westport Firm Partners With Carson Partners
A new partnership is giving one Westport wealth advisor access to institutional-grade resources without asking him to give up what makes his firm different.
Michael Gold, founder and CEO of Gold Family Wealth, has formed a partnership with Carson Partners that provides infrastructure, investment access and advanced planning capabilities while preserving his firm’s independence and client-first approach. Gold describes the arrangement as a way to combine the depth of a national platform with the personalization his ultra-high-net-worth clients expect.
Serving an Underserved Tier
Michael Gold’s Westport practice focuses on families with $20 million to $150 million in net worth, a group he says often falls between mass-market wealth management and the billionaire family office world. His model uses a network of specialists on a fractional basis, delivering what he calls clarity, coordination and governance traditionally reserved for the world’s most sophisticated families.
The Carson partnership arrives as the wealth management industry faces converging pressures. Close to three-quarters of privately held business owners expect to exit their companies within a decade, while the Great Wealth Transfer, an estimated $84 to $120 trillion moving between generations over the next two decades, is expected to peak this year. Nearly half of financial advisors also plan to retire by 2035, leaving what Gold calls a structural gap at the exact moment families need the most guidance.
Judgment First
Despite the added scale from Carson, Gold insists his core philosophy has not changed. “These are not transactional issues. They cannot be automated or managed through standardized models,” he said of the family dynamics and legacy goals his clients navigate daily. He views the partnership as a way to expand capacity, not a shortcut around the anticipatory judgment he believes defines quality advisory work.
For families weighing where to turn as trillions of dollars change hands over the coming years, Gold’s Westport office is betting that the combination of national resources and hands-on leadership will prove more durable than either element alone. Refer to this article for related information.
