Dr. Leen Kawas is the Managing General Partner of Propel Bio Partners. She brings extensive experience in evaluating life sciences opportunities. Her background includes regulatory strategies, drug discovery methods, financing, and commerce.
Dr. Leen Kawa’s recognition and list of leadership awards and accomplishments are long. In 2015 Washington’s Bio-Tech and medical Association recognized her impact. It named her one of Seattle’s most influential. Then named her a woman to watch in the Life Sciences.
She received the Washington Business Association’s Entrepreneur Award for the year 2016. She was also the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Woman. And gained the Puget Sound Business Journal 40 and under 40 Award for that year. In that same year, Leen Kawas was also the year’s Entrepreneur for EY. And also, the year’s young entrepreneur finalist for GeekWire.
The year 2017 saw Leen Kawas as a 40 and under 40 Life Science Leader, and one of PharmaVOICE 100 honorees. In 2019 she was French-American Foundation Leader. Then got the Alzheimer’s Cure Coin Award. She was also one of the seven Influencers of the Millenium named by BioSpace for the Biotech Industry. And she was Startup CEO for the Year for GeekWire. Dr. Kawas is also an earnest advocate for scientific entrepreneurs, especially women. And she serves on many scientific boards. She also serves internationally as the co-chair of the Business Consortium of the Alzheimer’s Association. And serves the network known as Springboard.
Her skills were key to her being successful in her former post as Chief Executive Officer of Athira Pharma. They also helped Leen Kawas to raise around $400 million. And led the company in its Initial Public Offering. These skills will continue to be key to her success at Propel Bio Partners.
